Early Life and Career
Klay Alexander Thompson was born on February 8, 1990, in Los Angeles, California.
He is the son of former NBA player Mychal Thompson and volleyball player Julie Thompson. Thompson attended Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, where he was a standout basketball player. In 2009, he committed to the University of Washington to play college basketball for the Huskies.
NBA Career
Thompson was selected by the Golden State Warriors with the 11th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. He quickly became a key contributor to the Warriors, averaging 12.5 points per game in his rookie season. In the following seasons, Thompson's scoring output increased, and he became one of the league's best three-point shooters. He helped the Warriors win three NBA championships in 2015, 2017, and 2018.
